S3 Environmental Sensing Division's (ESD) technology has been used for a wide range of scientific exploration.
S3-ESD has demonstrated the ability to take on the challenge of developing scientific quality measurements in new and innovative ways, and looks forward to helping solve more complex problems in the future.
- The MFLL system achieved the first high quality active remote CO2 measurements from an airborne platform demonstrating the first measurements of urban enhancement from anthropogenic activities, and earning the team the NASA Langley Center Team Award.
- The MFLL system was also used in conjunction with a custom Raman amplifier, which achieved the highest 1.62 um narrow-linewidth power (developed by Harris Corporation and TIPD), to demonstrate the first active airborne measurements of O2 in the 1.27 micron band.
- The GreenLITETM system demonstrated the first long term spatial mapping of CO2 for carbon capture and storage as well as for complex urban environments with a year long deployment over Paris, France.
